Costa Rica is part of the Central America isthmus. It's bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south. The Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean are the respective western and eastern borders .
It's smaller than West Virginia, but it has 6% of the biodiversity of the world. Thirty-one percent of the land mass is protected (National Parks, Indiginous Reservations, BioParks, etc.) Plant and animal life has flurished here and you can see it up close.
